"Be kind to one
another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has
forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32
Have you
ever accidently cut yourself or perhaps touched something hot and received
a burn? Not a very enjoyable or graceful moment was it. But hey, now
you have a souvenir, a scar, something to remember this great event in
time when you had one of those days :)
Scars
aren't always physical though. Many of us probably have scars on the inside,
deep down, where at some point we were hurt by someone, or perhaps, we
ourselves were the cause of someone else's pain. Unlike physical scars,
the pain can be lasting and affect us long after the event has passed.
Forgiveness
is an unbelievably strong counter to the nature of sin. When we overcome sin's
desire to keep us unrepentant, angry and hurt, our scars begin to heal and the
pain goes away. If we do not allow such actions, those scars continue to remind
us that we are still in sin, still hurting, still not letting God heal us...
Prayer
Lord,
forgive us for not forgiving one another and continuing on in the very sin
nature that brings about such things. Help us Lord to overcome the flesh and
it's desires to be angry and unrepentant at times. Lord, You alone have a
love that we could never have. When we focus on You, strive to be in You
and seek out Your council in all things, our lives become blessed. Father
we ask for Your love to be laid upon our hearts that we would love one another
as Your son loves us.
Lord, make us Kadosh Kadosh
L'cha - Holy unto You
